Capturing decent shots of birds is tough, but wow, look at the colour of this little guy. I hope he comes back soon. Nikkor 18-300mm lens, definitely need a longer lens!

Woody Woodpecker

It was neat to hear, then see this little woodpecker this morning. I think he was communicating with another woodpecker down the road. Cool how they can chat with their sounds.

Caught this little guy having a visit to an old feeding station. Nikkor 55-300mm 1:45-5.6G.

It sure has been awhile since I have posted last. Taking some time off from photography, but when I get a great shot like today, I have to share. Shooting Cardinals is not easy, as is with most birds. He did not want to stick around. What a beautiful bird.

So I tried taking shots of a birds over head. Neat colours, if you ask me. They seem so far away, even with my 300mm Nikor lens. Oh well, just gotta break down and buy that 400mm 1600$ one that I want :)

Saw this guy perched on top of my favourite tree.. Amazing that he can hang out there as long as he likes, so it seems. Nifty to have balance like that.

It's a bird, it's a plane, no wait, it's just a bird :). I think it's cool though, the form and shape of his wings etc.. You can see why they fly so well. Click twice to zoom in.. Wish I had had my other lens on :(
